my aunt actually sent this to me today. if this doesn't make you feel better, i don't know what will. oh wait, i do:
*be excited that you don't have a terrible disease, not bitter.
*look at your lovely wife and give her a squeeze.
*quit your job and get another one.
love ash

"Being poor ain't no big deal
Just to eat you're forced to steal
Selling rock out on the street
Just to make a few ends meet
Hassled by the big 5-0
Just for selling Ki's of snow
But remember that you keep it real,
so being poor ain't no big deal"

Poor here could be actually poor, or emotionally poor. I think both interpretations work.
I think I liked Ashley's better.
I like my job in a 'fine for now' way. I also don't think I'm ever going to quit writing. Its just a tough cycle to plow through- work really, really hard, rejected in an instant, dust yourself off, try again. I was between steps two and three.
Does that mean you don't want to invest in my musical project, Shake-dat-ass-spear, Scott? Try reading it again with an imaginary drum beat going through your head. I'm sure that will sell you on the possibilities.
